Saw this last night with about 20-30 friends. One of the best experiences I've had in a LOOONG time. I hope we make it a tradition. With artichoke pizza (as was said last night; the pizza is the most thoroughly explained thing in this flick)!

Yes, I am proud to say that screaming Alcatraz started with me and my friends. (A little known reference to "Murder in the First") Long after I am gone, my contribution to The Room will live on :-)

i saw this movie at its first run at the Laemmle Fairfax back in 2003 in a theater filled with about nine people. afterwards as my friend and i walked out some guy overheard us yammering about how beautifully awful the movie was. it turned out that this guy had worked on "The Room" as crew and he was kind enough to share some stories about working with Tommy. Apparently dozens of people were hired to work on this movie and the turnover was very high because Tommy was so difficult and strange to work with; on average he had to hire a new crew every month or so. it was shot on digital video and most mornings an entire crew would gather and wait three or four hours for Tommy to show up because he had the camera and like a true artist would only show up when inspired. Much of the direction of the camera and actors ended up falling on the DP because Tommy had no idea what to do as far as film direction (it all still looks bad, but believe it or not, could have been much, much worse). Wiseau apparently has more $$$ than he knows what to do with (wealthy family perhaps) which explains the billboard on Highland Boulevard. There used to be a bunch of photos on The Room's official site of the "premiere" with Tommy showing up in a limo, etc which are unfortunately gone...

Posting all that personal info is asking for trouble, friend.

I do not know anyone involved with the movie personally.

I worked with Mr. Wiseau before back in 2003. He was my client when I was the DVD Pre-Mastering Supervisor at Crest National (now called Crest Digital). That's when I saw "The Room" when we pressed a number of DVDs for him. As I remember my time with him, he was a nice guy and seems proud of his work. Also, sensed him being eccentric and eccletic in his aura...(is that possible?)

I'm just amazed that his film continues to play at the Sunset 5. And, the numerous commercials that come up on local late-night TV and that one billboard strategically-located in the Hollywood tourist area.

I said it before and I'll say it again..."The Room" is the new "Rocky Horror Picture Show." Whether you love it or you hate it...at least, people are talking about it.

He did invite me to his acting class at one point.........
