Mainly because I’m tired of renting 24 one disc at a time with Netflix. But BB’s prices don’t make sense.
$4.79 for a rental. But wait long enough, and that same DVD you want to rent, along with others, will be on sale used, 4 for $20.
If they actually want me to rent, shouldn’t the rental price be an obviously better price than that of secondhand purchase? And they wonder why people download.

Why don’t you just get a better netflix account? I’m pretty sure you can upgrade or downgrade on a month to month basis as consumption dictates.
A video place near Jesse’s home in Florida had an interesting rental option. A reasonable selection of their dvds were available for 2 day rental, one at a time, for free. But if you keep it over the 2 days, you get charged double the normal fee, but get to keep it for another week. They seemed to be doing ok.
couldn’t agree more Luke – the rental prices try to include these gimmicky options – 2 for 3 nights, 3 for five days – purleeezze, just give me the goddam movie I want for one night for £1.00 – or I will go download it just to punish you…
