I hope by now everyone realizes that the post below was my April Fool.
If I’ve learned anything from wrestling, it’s that the best promos have a kernel of truth to them. So I took stuff that you know about me, cranked it up, augmented it with the kind of navel-gazing I’ve seen on centrist blogs, and finally cranked the shit up. I figured the “remember this date” bit was the giveaway.
And I hope that the attention to the post below won’t detract from the movie clip two posts below, which I’d like everyone to watch, because it rules.
And for a detailed account of my last OC party, go here.

Most sites pretty much use April Fools Day to pretend they worked for the Onion, and then we find out why they don’t. Google usually goes all out, and I saw a few places that looked like they’d been prepping for at least a week to get crowned lolz king for the day.
Yours was scary plausible, almost the whole way through. It was “A Modest Proposal” quality, by which I mean turning to conservatism is akin to eating the poor. Kudos.

Yea… at first I thought you were Just That Influenced by QPD and Bradley, maybe. But it went on a bit and it was getting more wtfly and then when you mentioned the date it was for sure.
Good one, though.

Yeah, I noticed a rash of lame articles.
I looked some on Google but didn’t see their prank! Maybe I got bored.
I thought mine was okay, if improvised. I got at least one person.
David’s was good – again, it had a grain of plausibility, plus it was posted so late in the day when almost everyone else seemed to jump the gun before it was even midnight.
