Four for the road

This little blog meme thing appealed to me, so I’m gonna tag myself with it…

Four jobs you’ve had in your life: Busboy, movie theater assistant manager, Internet toy salesman, movie critic

Four movies you could watch over and over:
Flash Gordon, 2001, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, All three original Star Wars movies.

Four places you’ve lived: Dublin, Chapel Hill, Cullowhee, Straffan (Eire)

Four TV shows you love to watch: Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, South Park, Lost

Four places you’ve been on vacation: Montreal, Paris, Cardiff, Cedar Bluff (VA)

Four websites you visit daily: Pererro.com, LA Observed, Spawn.com, Toymania.com

Four of your favorite foods: Nachos, chili, sea urchin, toro sashimi (raw fatty tuna)

Four places you’d rather be: On a movie set, in a real English pub in England, at one of those wild MTV-style Spring Break parties, inside Britney Spears.

Answer on your own site or below, if the spirit moves you.

    inside Britney’s pears?

Luke – I’m amazed that she still figures on anyone’s radar – the trash appears to have rediscovered the trailer.

Britney is, was, and always will be awesome. The white trash aspect only adds to that as far as I’m concerned.

    awesome TV with her husband…(soooooonot)

I think you must still have that school porn video tickling your libido whilst swinging the memory into blindness as to what she’s become.

but being in an English pub at least tickles my memory a bit – I have fond memories of the last time we did that.

right now I’d rather be somewhere on a beach in Australia, (-8 HERE GUYS) in a bar chatting with Eddie Izzard, digging in the Vatican cellar and finding all the secret documents proving what a load of bullcrap they’ve sold the world, or just possibly with mynew love Katrina on holiday in St Lucia, her feeling fit and well again.

    my places lived is dull

my four fave foods is actually about forty,

    TV shows – none regularly,
web sites – none daily – this one and ebay community group mostly.- oh and that excludes my own one which I work on regularly – when in work…

four places I’ve holidayed would include the USA – ( through 28 states over 6 months) Tenerife, France, Norway.

I like your “four” movies -minus the star wars teddy bear episode. – “sunset boulevard” never tires me, and I’d rather have Groundhog Day than Pee Wee,

I never watched the Britney TV show, but I bought her Greatest Hits album the day it came out and have NEVER regretted it.

I think there’s a boomer bias against giving bubblegum pop any kind of a chance whatsoever. My cousin played Kelly Clarkson all holiday, and while everyone else in the house wrote it off without even listening, I thought the disc sounded quite good.

The Simpson sisters, however, I can live without.

The Kelly Clarkson album is amazing, and “Since U Been Gone” is far and away my favorite single of 2005, no question.

There are currently 3 absolutely amazing Swedish bubblegum pop albums out right now that are MUSTS for anyone who likes this stuff:
“Deep Cuts” by The Knife (song to download: “Heartbeats”)
“Anniemal” by Annie (song to download: the similarly titled “Heartbeat”)
The s/t disc by Robyn (songs to download: “Be Mine” and “Konichiwa Bitches”).

I promise even the most stubbornly indie readers will enjoy these masterful songs.

OOHHHHH!!!! I was going to say something about Brit but, Offpat’s reply makes it all worthwhile. That was a clean burn!!! LOL!!!

It’s not so much the Bubblegum pop, per se. It’s just Brit doesn’t account so much to others who, unfortunately, fall in that category but, has the chops to have a more long-lasting and respectiful career at it. Three I really like are Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Michelle Branch. CA has the best vocal lungs of her generation. KC is the same as well but, I hardly see her part of that Bubblegum group because, after all, she’s an American Idol. And, MB pretty much writes her own songs. But, again — these are my opinions.

Since some of you are doing your lists, I’ll give mine a shot. So here goes:

    ****************

Four jobs you’ve had in your life: Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Care, Store Manager, DVD Pre-Mastering Supervisor, Actor/Producer

Four movies you could watch over and over: High Fidelity, Ronin, The Empire Strikes Back, Chasing Amy.

Four places you’ve lived: Chicago (Illinois), South Bend (Indiana), Manhattan (New York), Makati (Philippines).

Four TV shows you love to watch: The X-Files, Night Court, WWE-TV, The Colbert Report

Four places you’ve been on vacation: Well, the places I began as vacation ended up for me to stay a lot longer than I expected and two of them were the Philippines and New York. I don’t travel much, unfortunately…

Four websites you visit daily: MySpace, WebMD, LYTRules, Indiewire.

Four of your favorite foods: Curry Tofu Soup, Chicken Mandarin Salad, Chicken Adobo, Cooked Fish Salmon.

Four places you’d rather be: touring all of England, singing & dancing in a Bollywood movie, return to the white sand beach paradise of Boracay in the Philippines, score a speaking part on the next X-FILES feature-length film.

Please, Chris Carter, Ten Thirteen Productions or 20th Century FOX…if you happen to google anything about next X-Files movie (“X-Files 10,” perhaps?), I would really like to have a part?!? (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0764061/)

Hey, it’s worth a shot to try this messageboard stunt, but, I got nothing to lose, you know… :)
