Trivial note
Last night I attended a screening of the original BLACK CHRISTMAS. At the time, I was trying to remember what terrible recent movie Bob Clark directed.
Now I remember: BABY GENIUSES 2: SUPERBABIES.
It had moments of inspiration, but really poorly done overall. Still, Clark made A CHRISTMAS STORY, which is an all time great that makes up for a multitude of sins.

Bob Clark also directed "Porky's," which is often misremembered as a generic '80s teen sex comedy, when in fact it is one of the weirdest movies of all time - a sort of homoerotic 1950s Canadian neurosis cataloguing. What a resume, though, for Clark! "Porky's," "Black Christmas," "A Christmas Story," and "Baby Geniuses 2"!!! And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Bob Clark was very funny, smart, cool, self-effacing and humble at the Grindhouse the other night. I was impressed. And "Black Christmas" was an awesome movie.
Renting Porky's again tonight, thank you.
