The gayest anti-gay video ever
I strongly suspect that this is an elaborate put-on. But whether it is or isn't, I think Robby the Redneck's favorite band has been discovered.

Yeah, I'm 100% sure now. This morning, curiosity got the best of me regarding bands I never heard of, plus a lot of well-liked ones on the "Safe" and "Gay" artists list. One of the supposedly "bad" ones is "Bobby Conn", who I never heard of before... I quickly discovered from some reviews, that "Bobby Conn and The Gypsies" (aka The Glass Gypsies) is a tres-gay and/or glam band from Chicago, who's schtick is political satire. There are pictures of them, where one of the Gypsies looks suspiciously like "Donnie Davies" from the video. I also stumbled across a site, that mentions that some guy from director from Chicago was a bit too overzealous on YouTube saying how great the video is, buy made the mistake of saying he'd seen it weeks before... but the video had just been uploaded days before.
Another obvious thing is the fact that Cyndi Lauper is on the list of "Safe" artists. Lauper wouldn't still be around if it weren't for her close relationship with the GLBT community. And Sinatra and Ghostface Killa being on the "gay" list is just too random and obvious. Then there's the album release thing, the Texas thing, the pink shirt, and the 'stache, and the too-perfect re-creation of a bad Christian Rock video.
Hoax. But an elaborate one, I must say. Alright, getting back to my life, now.

Aww. That Bobby Conn guy's all upset about it. It doesn't seem as funny now. I still think it was funny as in Borat type shock humor funny. Though I guess people were pretty upset about that, too. Sigh.
