Presumably this makes sense in Crazyland

"Liberals and socialists like the "Red Letter Christians," Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Ted Kennedy, Sen. Barack Obama, and Al Gore are violating the commands of the God of the Bible. If they truly want to follow God, they should stop their ignorant opposition to the conservative movement in America and join it. One of the first things they should do immediately is help cut government programs for the poor."

Huh?

Usually I think this would make me laugh but it really depresses me today for some reason or another.

What doesn't make sense? They don't want government control over charity. As a former christian who has read the bible, most of what that guy said makes sense from a biblical perspective. I can see why christians would have misgivings about handing over their responsibilities to government. I mean, look what government did to their messiah for chrissake.

"jesus is not a liberal or a socialist - our jesus is just a perfect capitalist asshole - vote for us"

they are a bit more depressing than the liberal evangelists they attack - I really have a thing about all evangelicals I'm afraid - caused some probs in the past within the family....

Didn't Jesus say that it was easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven? That certainly sounds like commie talk to me.
